Viking Berserker

This is a concept paint-over of a Viking Berserker. It is part of a bigger project for which i intend to write an in depth blog on my approaches to concept design for characters. After blocking out a head sculpt in zbrush, i did some keyshot renders and then sketched out some ideas in photoshop. I had quite a clear idea of what i wanted the costume to be. I gathered loads of reference, I then edited the references into my final selections and then photobashed and painted up the character. I will post more process when i put together the blog article detailing how the research informed the design as well as some process breakdown.
