Headhunter mantis

Taking my initial inspiration from a Caterpillar chrysalis, i imagined an insect creature that still has to feed during its pupa stage of development but has to remain rooted to a single location. In this case hooking itself to a tree branch. So whilst hanging in this state mantis like claws wait for victims to pass underneath. I wanted to do my own version of a creature you may find in movies like Kong skull island, or the Peter Jackson Kong. Were all the wildlife is familiar but oversized and super hostile. (like Australia). I imagine this creature to be about 5 foot tall, maybe just about big enough to sever a human head. It will be covered in hairs to sense vibrations of any passers by.
