Akuma Kani

Presentation image of crab monster, i wanted him to have some sort of recognisable face, I wanted this to be a playful moment distracted by the sea gulls.
This design is a bit of a remix of real world creatures. Spanner crab, horseshoe crab and a coconut crab to name a few.
I really like creatures that are not "evil" by nature. They just defend themselves when provoked. I usually tend to root for the creature in monster movies.
